Sample design — not a real business

Shreeji Sarees

Clothing Shop — Festival Campaign

01 · The problem

The shop posted whenever someone remembered — four times one month, nothing the next. Every post looked different, and the price was usually missing, so nobody could forward it to a family group and have it make sense.

02 · The approach

One template system, a month planned in advance around the festival calendar, and a rule that every post carries a price or an offer. Designed for the WhatsApp thumbnail first, the Instagram feed second.

03 · The result

The grid now reads as one shop. Staff can change a price in the template themselves, so posting no longer waits on a designer.

Six of the thirty posts in a monthly set. Each also ships in story size.

01

Before and after

Before

Photos taken on a phone under the shop’s tube light, posted with no price and no shop name on the image. Three posts in one week, then three weeks of silence.

After

One template, a price on every post, and the shop name in the same corner every time — so a screenshot forwarded into a family group still says where it came from.

02

What the month is made of

  • New stock 40%

What is on the rack this week. The only reason anyone follows a clothes shop.

  • Offers & price 25%

The posts that actually get forwarded. Never more than one offer running at a time.

  • Festival 20%

Chhath, Teej, Diwali, wedding season — planned a month ahead, not on the morning of.

  • Customers & shop 15%

Reviews, staff, the shop at night. Proof there are people behind the account.

Agreed once, then held. Without a mix, an account drifts into being nothing but offers by the third month.

  1. 1Safe areaNothing important within 60 px of the edge — Instagram crops the grid preview and WhatsApp crops the thumbnail differently.
  2. 2HeadlineFour words at most, set large enough to read at thumbnail size on a five-inch phone.
  3. 3Price or offerAlways present, always in the same corner. A post without a number gets scrolled past.
  4. 4Shop name & numberSmall but never missing. The post travels far past your own followers.
  5. 5Gradient behind the textA dark fade at the bottom so white text stays readable whatever the photo does.

04

The template set

  • Offer post

Discount or festival price. Badge top-left, price bottom-right, never both loud.

  • New stock

One garment filling the frame. Fabric and price, nothing else on the image.

  • Review card

No photo at all. The customer’s words set large on a solid colour so the grid gets a pause.

  • Festival greeting

Shop name only. No price on a greeting — on a puja day it reads as selling.

Four layouts carry the whole month. That is what makes thirty posts possible at this price, and what lets your staff change a price without calling me.

05

A story that goes somewhere

  1. 1

    1 · The hook

“नया आया है” over a close-up of the fabric. Two seconds is all you get.

  2. 2

    2 · The price

Same saree, wider shot, price on screen. Curiosity without a number dies here.

  3. 3

    3 · The proof

A customer holding it, or the rack showing eight more colours in the same design.

  4. 4

    4 · The ask

WhatsApp sticker and the location tag. This is the only frame carrying a link.

06

Reels worth shooting

  • 01

    Ten sarees in ten seconds

One cut per saree with the price on each. Cheapest reel to shoot, and the one that travels.

  • 02

    Draping in one take

A single unbroken shot, no cuts. Nobody here scrolls past a good drape.

  • 03

    The shop at 8 PM

Lights on, customers inside. It says you are open late without a word of text.

Shot on your phone, edited by me. All three can be filmed in one visit to the shop.

07

The month, planned in advance

You approve this once at the start of the month. Nothing is invented on the day it has to go out.

Ten of the thirty slots shown. Festivals are placed first, then offers and stock around them.

08

When it goes up

  • Weekday evening7:00 – 9:00 PM

After shops shut and before dinner. The best slot here by a distance.

  • Sunday morning10:00 – 11:30 AM

Family shopping gets decided on Sunday morning, not Saturday night.

  • Festival weekTwice a day

Morning greeting, evening offer — but only for the seven days that actually matter.

Hashtags & location

  • #handloomsaree
  • #sareelove
  • #chhathpuja
  • #shreejisarees

Motihari, Bihar — on every post

Eight tags, not thirty. Four local, three about the product, one your own — so your own tag slowly becomes something people search. The geotag does more work here than all eight put together.

10

11

Where else it goes

  • WhatsApp StatusThe same creative at 9:16. More people here see Status than open Instagram at all.
  • Facebook pagePosted separately rather than cross-posted, because the crop and the audience are different.
  • Google Business ProfileOffer posts go here too. This is what shows when someone searches “saree shop Motihari”.
  • Printed A4The festival creative, printed and taped inside the shop door. Same file, no extra charge.

One design, four places, no extra charge. Instagram is where it is posted; it is rarely where it is seen.

12

What I need from you

  • 10–12 clear photos a month, shot near the shop door in daylight — not under the tube light
  • The week’s offer in one WhatsApp message, before Monday
  • One customer a month willing to be quoted by name
  • Tell me the day stock finishes — an offer post for a sold-out saree costs you trust

This is the half that decides whether the month works. No designer can invent stock photos of your shop.

13

What gets reported

  • ReachHow many people saw the month, and which single post travelled furthest.
  • Profile visits & WhatsApp tapsThe only two numbers on the report that turn into money.
  • Best and worst postSo next month has more of the one and none of the other.
  • What I would changeOne paragraph in plain Hindi. Not a dashboard screenshot you cannot read.

Follower count is not on this list on purpose. It is the easiest number to inflate and the least useful one you have.

14

What you get each month

  • 30 feed posts, delivered weekly in batches of 7 or 8
  • A story version of every post at no extra cost
  • Festival calendar planned a month ahead — Chhath, Diwali, Teej, wedding season
  • 2 ad creatives sized for Facebook and Instagram promotion
  • Editable templates so your staff can change a price without calling me
